Why yes, yes I do!

This poll was found on CNN.com and you might be as surprised as I am when you see the voting results. Especially since Ashton Kutcher now has over a million followers on Twitter himself alone.

I’ve been on Twitter for almost a year now and have noticed a great change from then to now. The website went through many changes and as time went on, more and more people joined. All my friends are slowly becoming my followers on Twitter.

At first, I didn’t see how a site that was merely just like updating your Facebook status was going to become such a viral hit on the internet, but it really is. I’ve come to discover that I mainly enjoy it because I can share those random thoughts that pop into my head at the most unique times. Tweeting on Twitter is also known as “micro-blogging” and that is pretty much exactly what I use it for. Sometimes I can’t base an entire blog entry on how peanut butter is not a good idea to take on a picnic for a toddler, but just saying that in 140 characters or less is just enough to express that thought.

So, are you on Twitter? (When this blog entry feeds to Twitter asking if you’re on Twitter, that will be kind of funny.)

See what I mean? Only 7% of people who voted on this poll use Twitter. I guess most of the Twitterverse uses MSNBC.com as their news source. There haven’t even been a million votes on this poll in total. So if @aplusk tweets that he wants people to vote yes, there are potentially a million people right there that will change that 7% to a much higher number. Not that I care at all really, but I am just surprised in that 7% and 30% don’t even know what Twitter even is.
