Neighbor TMI & House Update
In the year that my husband, son and I have lived in this apartment complex, we have never had neighbors as noisey as the one(s) that recently moved in. There have been numerous occasions where I have had to literally talk myself out of walking my happy rear up the steps and to their door telling them that my husband and I both work full time jobs and have a one and a half year old boy that need’s his sleep and that we really don’t appreciate his inability to walk like a human being. Rather, I have just kept my mouth shut so far and dealt with it. Even at 2:00 am, lying in bed trying to sleep with his elephant-esque footsteps running amok around the area conveniently located above our bed, I have still managed to contain my anger and frustration.
I haven’t even seen this guy. How do I know he’s a male? Well, here’s a clue. This morning as I was getting ready for work in the bathroom straightening my hair with my trusty Chi, I heard footsteps comparable to that of a 200 pound kangaroo making it’s way from the bedroom, again located above ours, to the bathroom, of course, located above ours. Then, I hear the toilet lid go up and his peeing like a horse whizzing on a tin can. This is where the TMI comes in… I really don’t need to know how many times the neighbor above me has to squeeze out extra pee, but in this case, I’ll tell you that he did it more than ten times. Ew! Also, I do believe this man is single or either very rude because he then SLAMS the toilet seat down and proceeds on.
The night before I woke up during this bathroom urination incident, I heard what sounded like someone dropping a 50 pound box of books on the floor, again, above our bedroom and luckily for me, around 1:00 am.
As I type out this blog, I hear him clonking around like a bafoon with little to no regard to anyone else.
I must say, this is making the day we move into our new house even that sweeter. I will not miss the rude jerks that surround us. It will also be nice to have appliances from the new millenium too. C’mon stainless steel and flat stove tops!
There are currently 43 days until we close and begin moving into our home.
We met with the lead builder of our home yesterday. We did the mid-point walkthrough and checked things out to ensure everything is going correctly and well. Indeed it is. They have done all of the wiring, plumbing, heating and air vents and also have installed the wiring for our built in wall/ceiling surround sound. With the vaulted ceilings, we had a little trouble deciding on where the speakers should go. We ended up putting three along the wall where our LCD TV will be, one behind where the couch will be and another in the lower ceiling vault aiming down towards where the couch will be.
Since all of this has been done they have begun doing all of the drywall today and roughly around the weekend the siding will begin to be added. Oh, and we have a front door! I haven’t taken any photos because, well frankly, there isn’t much to show but once the siding and drywall is up you can definitely expect more photos.
Our closing date was pushed back a bit from the original date. We will be doing the final walkthrough and then the closing in the beginning of June. How exciting!
Next order of business will be to plan our housewarming party. I’m thinking of making a theme of it, something fun and summer-ish.
This is where you come in. Any ideas for a good summer housewarming theme? Also, how long do you think it will take for me to go upstairs and yell at the moron that currently lives above us?
Oh, and one last thing. I’m uber excited about the concert we will be going to in July. Can you guess which one? If you follow me on Twitter or on Facebook you should know. If you’re not following, you should!
43 Days and Counting!
