Under normal circumstances, I am against MTV and their lack of music television, but tonight I watched the movie awards (ironically on “music television”) just to see the first and only New Moon official trailer.

I must say, I am quite the fan girl and was giggling like a school girl. I’m not ashamed to admit it. Anyone who’s read the books would understand.

My opinion on the trailer is this: Taylor Lautner definitely bulked up to play werewolf Jacob Black and I must say, “wow!” because he surely did bulk up and looks much different (and better) than the original Twilight movie. I am thrilled that they have the same cast, even though the director is different, but I think that will be good considering that Twilight wasn’t really that great of a movie, but I still love it anyways because I’m biased. The scene where Bella cuts her finger at her birthday party, I think, could have been done a little better. The paper cut was quite cheesy looking, but Jasper running at her in uncontrollable thirst and Edward protecting her, just as in the book, was kind of hot to see in action.

The only real complaint that I have is the appearance of Jacob when he’s phased (a werewolf, for you non-readers) — I think the CG version of the wolf could have been a little better done and more true to the book. I always visualized him much larger than the trailer shows. It seems like in all four books, every time Bella sees Jacob, she describes that he’s gotten even bigger than the last time she saw him, by the time of Breaking Dawn, I imagined him as large as a house, which is obviously a little much, but I definitely imagined him larger than what’s shown in the preview.

PS. Why does Kristen Stewart always seem so unhappy and depressed to be anywhere? Not to mention, the fact that she dropped the popcorn helps her cause as the clumsy Bella Swan. Despite her contagious depression, she is pretty perfect for the role.
