Being the bargain shopper I am, when we moved into our new house, I wanted to buy some new things to make things go better together and what not. One thing I was set out to buy was a new set of steak knives and block to put them in. After looking around Target, Dillards, etc. I either never found the ones I wanted or they were just way too overpriced so I set out to check on eBay. Of course, I found them on eBay because you can find anything on the world’s largest garage sale known as eBay.

I then found exactly what I wanted. These beautiful black, 14 piece Ginsu knife set with black, hardwood block and all for a reasonable price. I used the ‘Buy It Now’ option and bought them as soon as possible.

After a few days, I received my package in the mail from Amazon and opened it very eager to wash them and display them on my counter tops to match my black and stainless steel appliances, but when I opened that big brown box, I saw the item’s box which had  what I ordered but the block was a tan color. Thinking that maybe the outside photo didn’t depict what was actually on the inside, I opened the box and was very unpleasantly surprised to see that the outside photo was true!

Next, I jumped on my laptop, surfed to eBay and re-checked the auction just to be sure it wasn’t my fault that I may have possibly misread something. I always read everything because people can be very sneaky. The auction showed the photo with the black block and even the description said ‘black hardwood storage block’.

I then contacted the seller and informed him/her of this. Their reply was along the lines of “I didn’t even know we had tan blocks in stock or that they even made them in tan”. Apparently, this person doesn’t directly deal with the store, inventory or shipping either. The sent me a shipping label to send the knives back so I did.

Today, I receive the new item. Gladly opening my box thinking that my new item was here and ready to be put out to be used but AGAIN they sent me the WRONG color again. The same color as last time. I must be the person that has gotten the only two sets in tan in their entire store, considering the seller didn’t even know it came in tan.

I jumped back on eBay and contacted the seller AGAIN and told him that they sent me the wrong item again and that the first time could easily be misconstrued as a mistake but having the same thing happen twice is unacceptable and very poor service.

I haven’t received a reply yet, but once I do, I’ll be sure to tweet it or blog it. I was even still going to give them positive feedback for a smooth exchange but now they are definitely not getting that positive feedback. This is my first issue with an eBay transaction. I don’t normally buy though but hopefully this is the only issue that I encounter.
