What You Should Know Before You Follow Me On Twitter
The subject of this blog was inspired by Wil Wheaton, a blogger, actor, twittter addict and geek extraordinaire. He, in turn, was inspired by someone else to write his blog entry called ‘what to expect if you follow me on Twitter (or: how I will disappoint you in 6 quick steps)‘. I thoroughly enjoy reading Wil’s nonsensical humorous blog entries and tweets and this was one that I completely felt compelled to tailor to myself as a blog about my Twitterverse.
Without further ado, here is what you should probably know before you follow me on Twitter:
1. I blog early, often and consecutively. If you are not following too many people in addition to me on Twitter, my tweets may clog up your timeline in little to no time at all, even if I do spread my tweets out throughout my days. If you use Twitter via text message then maybe you might want to invest in an unlimited text messaging plan before you hit the ‘follow’ button next to my name. As of this moment, I have 2,905 tweets and don’t plan to stop anytime soon. You be the judge.
2. I follow a decent amount or people, less than 100, though. I will usually add someone but if they’re annoying then I will unfollow them. Just because you’re following me, doesn’t necessarily mean that I will follow you, unless, of course, you make some kind of conscious effort to strike up a conversation.
3. I will respond to your @replies unless, of course, you have something rude or crude to say, but even then, sometimes you can get a smartass remark from me. I don’t particularly enjoy carrying on long, drawn out conversations through @replies. Sorry.
4. If you’re impressionable, don’t follow me. I will not censor myself to your liking. My tweets are an outlet for the random thoughts I conjure up during, sometimes, the most inopportune times. I am real and honest and will share my thoughts ’til my heart’s content.
5. My blog entries feed into my Twitter account, so I invite everyone to read my blog and if you don’t particularly like my blog or the numerous things that feed into my Twitter account, I am sorry but this comes with the territory of following me.
Now that I’m done with my 5 step guide, I want to let everyone know who reads this that I welcome anyone to start following me and I hope that you enjoy my random sarcasm and humor and can relate in one way or another to some of the things I vent about in 140 characters or less.
